In every single instance when an outside event or occasion has been scheduled involving the 122nd, Cordero/Cordoro has forecast and personally ordered and commanded perfect event weather. The story has oft been told he would take a 100-pound sand filled "Blue Bird" practice bomb to bed during maneuvers at San Marcos, Texas to ensure he would be the very first to arm his B-26 aircraft in the morning.
