Back to BriefingsDedication ceremonies for the Starbase Cessna 172-A were held Wednesday August 18th at the Starbase facility at Jackson Barracks. Starbase Director Cheryl Arbour introduced the guest speakers; Brig. Gen. Brod Veillon and Lt. Col.(Ret.) Arthur Alberti. Gen. Veillon spoke of the acquisition of the Cessna. Col. Alberti gave a brief history of the 122nd Restoration Unit, the talents of the members and some of their accomplishments over the years. He congratulated Ms. Arbour and her staff for the outstanding job they are doing with the students from the local schools who participate in the Starbase program.
A slideshow on the restoration process of the Cessna 172 Aircraft was shown. A plaque was presented to Col. Alberti on behalf of the Restoration Unit by Starbase staff member Stacy Besselman. After the ribbon cutting ceremony refreshments were served and visitors toured the Starbase facility.
