
Dignitaries who spoke at the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Korean War were General Landreneau, State Adjutant General of the National Guard, U.S. Senator Mary Landreiu, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Robert Monsted, representing the 122nd Bomb Squadron, Mr. Berry, representing the 773 Tank Battalion, and Mr. Viziene, representing the 135 Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron. All these units were called to active duty during the Korean War.
Fourteen veterans of the 122nd received the Korean War Medal. Robert Monsted, Clarence Eckelmann, Jack Hasling, John Cordero, Everett Ross, Ernest Daunis, Anthony Trapani, Claude Spies, A. J. Ordogne, Joe Posseno, Robert Thompson, Gleason Carlini, Harry Lowe and Dave Callen.
