OH-58 Kiowa

The OH-58 Kiowa is the military version of the Bell Jet Ranger, the most successful civil helicopter in the world. The U.S. Army acquired 2,200 OH-58s between 1968 and 1973. After serving for nearly 30 years the Kiowa is still the Army's preferred light observation platform. It can top 130 mph and while it normally does not carry extensive armament, it can be outfitted with both guns and rockets. The Kiowa is one of the most versatile armed reconnaissance helicopters ever developed.

The restoration of the OH-58a, Serial No. 70-15426, has been completed and the aircraft placed on display. Official dedication ceremonies were held on Sept.10th, 2000.
